SUP – Innovation, Surfing and the FUTURE
Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) has saved the surfing industry from total collapse, according to some people in the Surfing Industry. Mike Casey of Casey Surf Designs.com told told me this today from Hawaii. Mike is a Master Surfboard Shaper and lives on the North Shore of Oahu. He can shape any kind of surfboard, but he is one of the few people who shape “all wood” surfboards.
Laird Hamilton and the tons of other hellmen (and women) who ride SUP’s, innovate, invent and push themselves to the limit deserve all of the credit for this surf industry turnaround.
Now people can enjoy riding a stand up paddleboard on the ocean, a lake, river or a pond. The learning curve is very low, and almost anyone can do it. Riding a SUP on a lake, 100′s of miles from an ocean is a lot of fun and will be the new/ innovative thing to do this year. Many have already caught on to this fabulous craze and SUP boards are being sold everywhere in the world. I am doing it on Puget Sound in the Great NorthWest of the USA.
Riding a SUP is a great way to get into and stay in shape. You can better enjoy the great outdoors and see wildlife up close and in person. You can even fish from it. Please look online and find a local lake or water-way that is offering SUP’s. Try it out. I am sure you love it!
